Trainee Psychologist - March 04, 2024
Paid LessonLesson Collection #4 - Lesson 15bWhen you really need something to get your students talking, try using 'The Trainee Psychologist." This is a small group activity where students work with adjectives of personality - but the real fun of this lesson is learning about students "real psychological" secrets.
Although the focus of this lesson is on descriptive adjectives - there is an underlying "psychological interpretation" of their answers, and that's what is so fun about this lesson.
Caution: This is only a game and not meant to serve as a realistic measure of one's psychology. Nevertheless, students are guaranteed to get quite vocal in defending or countering their "psychological interpretations." Use this lesson with new classes as an ice-breaker, or when a class just needs an energy boost.
There is an additional 'Psychologist' lesson. It is:
Amateur Psychologist (See Lesson 15a above).
What Makes Our Lessons Different?
Teachers Save Time
Reduce lesson planning and gain freedom in the classroom. With all students busy, the teacher can casually roam around the classroom and offer assistance wherever needed.
Students Learn by Doing
Minutes after beginning each lesson, classes often become noisy. At times, very noisy. Why? Students, in pairs or small groups, actively engage in completing the lesson task. They use English to learn English.
Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing
Oral communication is important. Listening and speaking have priority in our lessons; students need to carefully listen to each other. Reading is also important for the success of the lessons. The amount of writing required varies.
Fun for Teachers & Students
We believe students learn better when having fun. Our lessons range from silly to serious but each has a solid task-specific educational goal including grammar usage, vocabulary building and fluency improvement to name a few.

Hi Kurt,
Your customer service is excellent and I think you have a great product. I am using the lessons and I love the fact that I have ready made materials and instructions. These lessons are so great for teaching privately, in institutes and also add to my classroom themes in university.
Keep up the good work.

Dear Kurt,
Your lessons are professionally done and most of all fun!
We all find your materials more than just a fun filler even though they do liven things up.
I post each of your lessons on a teacher’s exchange board Mondays at school for the other trainers. The feedback has been nothing but praise.
Keep up the good work.
Margaret Ann Doty - EFL Trainer
Dear Kurt,
A HUGE THANKS !!
Because of what you do at EFL4U, my school is one of the best in the city. I think it’s really important for students to have fun, to act, to react and learn English by using it! With your active lessons, my students do all of that, and more….
Grammar is taught after or before the lessons… and all of my students learn while having lots of fun.
Kurt, EFL4U IS THE BEST THING THAT I HAVE RECEIVED. EVERY YEAR, YOU ARE MY SANTA CLAUS.
